Parking is available at the Lodge Garage or Lower Lodge for vehicles with a state parking placard. Additional accessible parking is also available onsite at the Yosemite Falls Day Parking Lot. Assistance services are not available at the lodge.

Types of rooms available at the Yosemite Valley Lodge

There are many different types of rooms available at the Yosemite Valley Lodge with various amenities suitable for different groups of people. There are Standard Rooms which have no private balconies and include a double bed, Deluxe Rooms which include a queen-size bed, views of Half Dome or Yosemite Falls, and access to a private balcony overlooking the valley that is shared with up to 4 guests for a total of 8 people.

There is also a Junior Suite which includes 2 double beds and a private balcony overlooking the valley with access to 4 additional guest rooms on that floor for a total capacity of 12 guests.

Yosemite Valley Lodge Bunk Rooms

These rooms offer the convenience of sleeping 2 kids (or anybody) on a double bed and another person on bunk beds. These rooms are good for small groups such as families with young children who want the convenience of having everyone in one room or friends that don't mind sharing a tight space.

Policies and guest services

Pool Policies

The pool is open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The pool is not heated and does not have a lifeguard on duty. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Guest services

Self service kiosks are available 24/7 in the lobby for you to print your own boarding pass or access your travel itinerary anytime, day or night without having to wait for the front desk staff.

Rates are included with every reservation however guests will need to pay $10/night per vehicle upon arrival at Yosemite Valley Lodge if self parking lot maximum capacity has been met due to extreme demand. Otherwise please park in Garage B at Yosemite Village 8am - 8pm. If you are staying overnight, your car will be parked in Garage B free of charge until 10am the following morning.

You can use the post office to send letter, postcards and packages.

Transportation offers bus service all around Yosemite National Park. Yosemite Valley Lodge is the hub of Yosemite transportation with bus service all around Yosemite National Park. If you are in need for your own car, there is an outdoor parking lot available upon request at no extra charge. However, please note that free parking spaces are extremely limited due to demand and availability may not be guaranteed during holidays or special events.

Yosemite Valley Lodge offers free wireless access and is able to print documents and pictures.

Front desk staff is available 24 hours a day for guest services and inside information pertaining to Yosemite Valley Lodge.

No pets are allowed on property, with the exception of service animals.

Outdoor parking is available upon request at no extra charge, but please note that free parking spaces are extremely limited due to demand and availability may not be guaranteed during holidays or special events.

There is no smoking allowed inside Yosemite Valley Lodge or any of the outdoor areas.

The Coffee Corner offers coffee drinks as well as different types of pastries such as cinnamon rolls and muffins for your morning pick me up. If food isn't what you are looking for, they also offer iced tea and sodas for a refreshing drink.

• Base Camp Eatery

The Base Camp Eatery has a cafeteria-style selection of food. Enjoy burgers, sandwiches, salads, and other daily specials. You can also choose the grab and go food, so you don't have to waste time waiting in line.

Bike Trails

You can rent bikes directly from the Yosemite Valley Lodge and ride on designated trails. These trails are separate from vehicle traffic, making it a safe and easy way to view the picturesque Yosemite Valley landscape.

Yosemite Falls

The Yosemite Falls hike is about two miles round trip and has an elevation gain of 2,425 feet. While this may be a strenuous hike for some, those who make it to the top will be rewarded with amazing views of Upper Yosemite Fall.

• Backpacking

Backpacking is essentially the art of hiking with all your gear. If you bring everything on your back, all you need to do is hike and sleep; no setting up camp or cooking (if desired). While you backpack in this location, you will have the opportunity to fish in places such as the off-the-trail alpine lakes that are only accessible by foot, or glance up at the millions of stars in the sky.

• Swimming

Swimming in the Merced river at the yosemite valley lodge is a relaxing activity that can take your mind off hiking for a day (if you do not backpack). The water here runs relatively cold even in summer months, but during high stream flows you could also go kayaking through rapids. Camping areas are available if you want to stay overnight.

• Hiking

One of the top activities offered by this location is hiking. This area offers over 800 miles of trails that range from easy one-mile walks to challenging treks with steep terrain and dramatic vistas. If you enjoy backpacking, there are also campsites available for you to stay overnight.
